Boarding Position.
Pilot by arrangement.
Kvitsoey pilot station will provide pilot services for vessels which exceed 30.000 GRT and are classified to carry hazardous or polluting cargo, from pilot boarding place located in position 1), weather permitting the place shall be used only by arrangement with Kvistøy Pilot Booking Services. Otherwise, vessels will be served from the pilot boarding places located in positions 2) and 3).
As from 15.11.01 the Norwegian Coastal Directorate moved boarding position for pilot boarding ground for vessels above 30.000 GRT.
Helicopter transport for pilots embarking and disembarking vessel of 30.000 Gross and above was also introduced from the same date.
Master of vessels of 30.000 GRT, or larger, and are classified to carry hazardous or polluting cargo, should submit General Arrangement Deck Plan prior to vessels arrival to the pilot station.
This will enable the helicopter pilot to familiarize himself with the
layout on deck and thus avoid obstacles that may represent hazard to safe operation.
